Difference Between PVDF Coatings and Powder Coatings

PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride) is a resin based liquid coating system. Powder Coating is an electrostatic process in which the electrostatically charged powder is sprayed on the metal surface.

PVDF Coatings and Powder Coatings

Powder coating has the advantages of high efficiency, energy saving, less pollution, environmental protection, high paint utilization, good coating performance, and available in numerous choices and a wide variety of colours, textures, finishes. The disadvantage is that it is not resistant to sunlight.

The advantages of PVDF spray coating is higher durability, thin coating and stable color, strong weather resistance, not easy to fade, and discoloration. The disadvantage that it is available only in matte finish, in order to get super gloss more layers of coating have to be added resulting in an increase in cost of material and application.
